Linda Fitzner

FITZNER, LINDA Linda Fitzner, age 51, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, October 17, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gerda Fitzner (Boeve). Linda will be lovingly remembered by her father, Ralph Fitzner (Angela Blaine-Fitzner); and her sister, Martha (Bill) Van Niejenhuis; her nieces and nephew, Sarah (Craig) Jackson and their three girls, and William, Anna and Amanda Van Niejenhuis. She was a Registered Nurse and had earned her Master's Degree in Nursing. She taught in the nursing program at Grand Rapids Community College. Linda also used her gift of caring for people in home care with Holland Home, finishing her career there in an administrative role. She served faithfully at Resurrection Life Church for more than 20 years in the Audio Visual Department. Linda served as Board President for the Grand Rapids Agility Club. She loved her dogs and enjoyed training them for agility competitions. She also enjoyed gardening and gourmet cooking. A time for visiting with Linda's family will be held 5 to 8 PM Sunday at Cook Funeral Home in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (west building). Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday at Resurrection Life Church in the Rez Center, 5100 Ivanrest Ave. with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Rev. David Christian will be officiating. Interment will be in East Holland Cemetery.
