Dorothy Clements

Dorothy Jean Clements, age 81, of Spring Lake, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008, at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. Dorothy was born September 28, 1926, in Dearborn, MI, to William P. and Melvina L. (Wertz) Boor. She married George Clements on September 12, 1945 in Detroit. Dorothy and George owned and operated the G.W. Clements Co. Inc. in Spring Lake and Grand Rapids. She was an avid golfer and a member of Spring Lake Country Club, an active bridge player, a member of Mary Free Bed Guild, the East Grand Rapids Planning Commission and a former president of Breton Downs School P.T.A. Dorothy enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband, antiquing and cooking. Dorothy is survived by her husband, George; a daughter, Connie (John) Flynn of Ada; a son, Jon (Judith) Clements of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Josh Flynn, Diana Davidson and Andrew Clements Graff and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, George W. Clements Jr. in 1980 and a brother, Donald P. Boor. The service for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2008, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating (PLEASE USE NEW EAST ENTRANCE). Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Memorials to Harbor Hospice in Muskegon are appreciated.
