Judith Deveau
Judith M. Deveau, age 78, of Lansing, died November 9, 2007. Born January 6, 1929 in Kuchen, Germany. Mrs. Deveau was a member of the Church of the Resurrection. She was active in the St. Catherine's Circle and Meals on Wheels. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed gardening and baking, and volunteered at Fairview Elementary School. She was a supporting and loving mother and grandmother, always generous with her time and talents. She was an avid MSU basketball and football fan for many years. Mrs. Deveau was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1985. Surviving are one daughter, Joanne (Thomas) Newton; five sons, Andrew (Cindy), Brian (Colleen), Dale (Lusetta), John (Denise) and Mark; eighteen grandchildren; one brother, Eberhard (Irmgard) Hieber; and numerous relatives in Michigan and Germany. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 12, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. William J. Koenigsknecht officiating. A graveside service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave. Sunday, November 11, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan's Transitions Program.
