Formerly of Gobles, Wilma (Brick) Harriet Messinger was called home to the Lord on Thursday, July 23, 2020. She was born, one of five daughters, to William and Bertha Watson on September 5, 1920 in Kalamazoo, MI. She resided in Gobles, MI for many years with her husband, E. Donald Messinger, who preceded her in death. She most recently resided in Tropical Harbor, Lake Placid FL, where she had many friends. She was preceded in death by special friend William Bovee. Wilma operated a full-service beauty salon in Gobles for several years. She was an avid golfer and a bowler, and participated in national bowling tournaments with her sisters over many years. Wilma was also a member of the Eastern Stars. She leaves behind three step-children, Donald (Bonnie) Messinger, Donita Keeley and Sally (Jerry) Mansfield. She was grandmother to Michael (Deanne) Messinger, Daniel Messinger, Megan (Chris) Storck, Amanda (Charles) Robbert, Glen (Debra)Keeley, Brian (Melissa) Keeley, Michelle Keeley, Teresa (Richard) King, Sarah (Eli) Carlson, Keith Mansfield and Kathleen (Charles) Card. She was preceded in death by grandson, Brett Mansfield. She was great-grandmother to twenty-five and great-great grandmother to twenty-five. She was also a special aunt to Sue Preston, Pat Coffman, Jim Carota, Toni Mulcahy, Kevin White and Bill Boodt, and was preceded in death by niece, Lynda Petersen. Visitation will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 from 10 AM until noon at the Gobles Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com. A graveside service will follow at 1 PM at Robinson Cemetery, Pastor Gary Napp officiating.
