William Smiddy

Bill passed on October 19, 2019, at home in San Marcos, CA with his family around him. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kari, daughters Ali and Delaney, brothers Tom, Mark, Ed, aunts, a very special uncle in Jim Smiddy and many cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Denver and Shirley (Tinder) Smiddy. He was born in 1958 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. Bill was a graduate of Portage Northern High School where he excelled at wrestling as well as a proud graduate of Michigan State University. He was a Spartan for life. Professionally, Bill worked as a sales representative for several companies including McDonnell - Douglas and at Stanley – Black & Decker as Territory Sales Manager for the last 30 years. Bill found keen enjoyment in watching his daughters' sports endeavors, cooking, golf, reading, and fishing. Bill remained an avid fisherman his entire life. According to Bill's wishes his cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. He will be dearly missed by his family. If so inclined, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Kalamazoo Nature Center.
