Bill went to be with our Lord peacefully at home on December 19, 2019. He will always be remembered and loved by family and friends. Born in Kalamazoo, MI to Arthur and Elizabeth (Walters) Lajiness on April 23, 1950, Bill was the fifth boy in the Lajiness family. He graduated from Loy Norrix High School in 1968. Bill moved to Houston Texas in 1976 working for Coca Cola. In 1989, he moved to Washington where he met his wife and married in 1994. Bill worked for Pierce Transit as a driver until his retirement in 2017. Bill was a patriot and a man of faith who loved God and country. He was proud to serve when he enlisted in the US Army after high school. He was a faithful member of Puyallup Motion Church. Even after a diagnosis of cancer last August, he remained positive knowing he was in God's loving hands. Besides his wife Dana (Sutter) of 25 years, Bill leaves behind his son Cory Thomas of Star Valley Ranch, WY, daughter Amy (Dan) Ward, Renton, six grandchildren, Kaylee and Jordyn Mandery, Hunter (Kelsie) Thomas, Coltyn Thomas, Ellie and Ashton Ward and two great grandchildren, James and Owen, as well as four brothers, three from Michigan, Jim Lajiness of Mattawan, Tom (Rosalie) Lajiness of Kalamazoo, Bob (Joan) Lajiness of Vicksburg and Dave (Lynn) Lajiness, Fountain Hills, AZ. Bill also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, too many to list. He loved you all very much. The celebration of life to honor Bill will be Tuesday, January 28, 11am, Kalamazoo Community Church, 2435 N 26th St, Kalamazoo, MI. In memory of Bill, donations can be made to Kalamazoo Community Church.
