William Bell, Jr.

Bell, Jr., William Kalamazoo, Michigan William (Bill) C. Bell, Jr. of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away on December 8, 2021, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Bill was born July 28, 1953, in Kalamazoo to William C., Sr. and Mary Joan (Wechsler) Bell, who preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joy, and their daughter Jennifer Jones, her husband Edward and their two children Trey and Madelyn, daughter Kathryn Bell and her fiance Larry Hickey, his sister Ailene Caltzontzin and her daughter Tabitha Bonkowski and her husband Eric. Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, "Pauncle," and a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. He was a long-time member of Northeastern Baptist Church, where he especially enjoyed the in-depth Bible studies. In more recent years he used his training in the Sheriff Deputy Reserve to serve on the church's Security Team. Along with his love for the Lord, he had several earthly loves and passions in life including bird hunting, bass fishing, riding his Harley, good food and video gaming (where he formed some meaningful friendships). None of these compared to the love he felt for his wife, daughters, and family. Bill wasn't a man that wore his heart on his sleeve, but you could see the love and care he felt for those around him by the look in his eyes while they were present. Many jokes were made about Bill "resting his eyes", often at inopportune times, but he always enjoyed a good laugh, even at his expense. Bill was very kind and made easy friendships with those around him. The time we all spent together on Earth was too short, but the fond memories live on in our hearts. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:30 AM, at Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G Avenue, Kalamazoo, 49048, with an hour to greet the family prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30 AM. A private entombment will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to Northeastern Baptist Church or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
