Marvin Wayne Thompson, of Paw Paw, MI passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the age of 66. Wayne was born on May 9, 1950 in Town Creek, AL, and was the son of Marvin and Juanita (Loosier) Thompson. Wayne was married to Laura (Gates) DeYoung. He worked as a production manager for 40 years for International Paper / Evergreen Packaging until retirement, loving his career and the people he worked with. Wayne could often be found driving his personal golf cart around the local lakes and neighborhoods with his wife, or paling around with son Jeff. They enjoyed golfing, visiting casinos, and working on home projects. Wayne was always the Supervisor and Jeff the “Chief Laborer.”

Wayne is survived by his wife, Laura; 2 children: Greg Thompson, and Jeff (Misty) DeYoung; nephews John and Steven Hess; and sister Colette of Alabama. He is preceded in death by his son Marcus; and his parents.

Burial will take place Thursday, July 21 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kalamazoo at 1pm.
