Wayne Grannan

Grannan, Wayne 12/8/1957 - 9/6/2022 Kalamazoo Wayne Grannan passed away September 6, 2022 at his home in the compassionate care of his children Summer and Maceon, and his close friend, Rick Seelye. Wayne was the oldest of five children born to Dale and Colleen Grannnan, of Kalamazoo. He graduated from Hackett High School in 1976, and most enjoyed working as a builder/handyman for several local businesses including Gillespie Maintenance, Farrell Brothers Builders, and Lasting Impressions. Wayne was an avid reader of historical non-fiction and poetry, loved a good Western, and enjoyed using his clever wit to engage others in discussions, riddles, and mischievous humor. A lover of music who couldn't carry a tune, Wayne whistled his way through every task, and could always be found with Irish mischief in his eyes, a laugh on his lips and a beer in his hand. Wayne keenly felt the bond of family. This was evidenced by his relationship with his own father, which is echoed in the close bond he maintained with his son and daughter, the companionship he provided to his widowed mother, and the home improvement and repairs he provided both at his mom's home and at his sister's shop. Wayne is survived by his daughter Summer Grannan, his son Maceon Grannan, his grandchildren Caitlyn Grannan, Logan Wilson, Landen Wilson, June Grannnan, and Brleigh Grannan, his siblings Guy Grannan, Juli (Paul) Hartfield, Jodi (John) Musser, and Jeni (Bob) Hruska and many loving nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Grannnan and Colleen Grannan. A service honoring Wayne's memory will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kalamazoo on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
