Velva Howard, age 74, of Holland, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009, at Tender Care in Holland.
Velva was a member of Lakeshore House of Prayer and worked at Lifesavers for many years. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Howard; and daughter, Wanda Stewart.
She is survived by her husband, Roosevelt; and children, Robert and Sue Howard of Fennville, Linda Henderson and Jeff Mc Kinney of Zeeland, Zelma Doolaard of Monterey Center, Ken and Barb Howard of Allegan, Charles Howard of Holland; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bryeno and Helen Hensley of TN, Frank Hensley of Holland, Mary Tyler of Holland, Betty Daniels of Holland, Shirley Hensley of Ludington; sister-in-law, Noarlee Saylor of FL; several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland. Pastor Terry Helgren will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Fund.
