Tucker Parnell Smith, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend passed away in his home on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the tender age of 11, surrounded by family and loved ones. Tucker was born on October 13, 2010 to Parnell and Brandi Smith. From the beginning it was clear Tuck had a special spirit and kind heart that drew others to him. To know Tucker was to love him. Tucker's infectious laugh and bright smile could light up any room. He had a quick wit and sarcastic nature about him that made those around him smile and laugh even in the hardest of times. Tuck had a passion for all things dinosaur. He was a fan of superheroes, especially Winter Soldier and Black Panther, and had a love for Godzilla and King Kong. Tucker was an avid lego builder, completing and proudly displaying 100's of models in his home. Tuck also enjoyed playing baseball, and, as a movie buff, he never turned down the opportunity to enjoy a flick and eat popcorn and pizza with family or friends. Tucker is survived by his loving family; parents, Parnell and Brandi Smith; siblings, Harper and Sloan Smith; grandparents, Pam and Ken Smith, Pat Conant (Richard Bussler), and Louis Conant; aunts and uncles, Kati Yorks, Kelli Smith (Nate Disch), Lance Conant (Alyson Wyant), and PJ Conant; cousins, Tinley Yorks, Adie Nelson, Jayce Wyant, Fisher Yorks, and Dylan Nelson; as well as many extended family members. Tucker may have lost his long and heroic battle with Ependymoma brain cancer, but not before leaving his mark and sharing his light with so many throughout his community and beyond. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 1:00pm at the Mattawan High School Auditorium. Doors will open to the public at 11:30am. The celebration will be casual, and the family encourages everyone to wear things that remind them of Tucker, like Tucker Tough shirts, his favorite color orange, dinosaurs, superheroes, King Kong, etc. Arrangements are entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Tucker to ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation P.O. Box 907 Saline, MI 48176.
