Tracy Lawson

Tracy R. Lawson, age 62, of Kalamazoo, MI died at home on February 5, 2017 following a long struggle with cancer and emphysema. He was born on September 14, 1954 in Kalamazoo, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Lawson. Prior to his retirement from Standard Electric, he enjoyed hours of fishing, fly tying and gambling at the local casinos. He was fascinated by Native American cultures and enjoyed reading about the Michigan tribes and attended area pow-wows. He is survived by his brother, Paul Lawson, and sisters, Gloria Sharp, Angela (Harold) Cronk and Mary (Tim) Kane, his 6 nephews and 1 niece, and grand nephews. He especially enjoyed his weekly visits with his youngest grand nephew, Caide, who always succeeded in making his uncle laugh. Tracy was very proud of reaching his 24th year of sobriety and would like to thank all of the members of AA for the years of support and fellowship. His family wishes to express their thanks to Great Lakes Hospice for the care given to Tracy at home. Tracy is being cremated and a memorial mass will be held on March 11, 2017 at 11:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. All memorials should be given to your local AA groups so they can continue helping people in their recovery.
