Obituary
Timothy Evans passed away on September 3rd, 2024. He was 77. Tim Evans was born in Ann Arbor MI and raised in Portage. After graduating from Portage Central High School he attended the University of Michigan. He graduated both from the School of Medicine (MD, 1974) and the Department of Biological Chemistry (PhD, 1976). He completed his medical residency at Duke University.
Dr. Evans arrived in Seattle in 1980 and worked at the University of Washington in a research laboratory and as a physician. He practiced as a General Internal Medicine doctor with a specialty in Endocrinology. He taught medicine in various health professions programs, most notably, he served as a lecturer for approximately 30 years at the UW MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant program, and also as the Medical Director. Dr. Evans also served on national commissions and boards for the Physician Assistant profession.
In addition to teaching and medicine, Tim loved sailing, cooking, bluegrass music, opera and Islay single malt.
In lieu of flowers, donations will support the Medical School Class of 1974 Endowment Scholarship Fund and the Biological Chemistry Graduate Program Support Fund at the University of Michigan. A private memorial service will be held on a date to be determined. A publicly accessible memorial will be installed at the Evergreen Washelli Columbarium Library room in Seattle WA. Tim Evans is survived by his wife, Keren Wick; his daughter Bonnie Brandstadt and son-in-law Todd; his grandchildren Nicholas Grant, Jackson Tyler, Cameron Joseph, Mollie Kathryn, Ellie Kristine Dexu; and sisters and their husbands Sally and Chuck Russell, and Cindy and Jim Westerhof; his nieces: Jenny Gogan and Sarah McMenimen, and Samantha and Jessica Westerhof. Tim also left behind many good friends who will miss him dearly.
