Rowley, Thomas 8/20/1944 - 8/12/2016 Three Rivers, MI Thomas "Thom" Alan Rowley, 71, passed on to Heaven on Friday after a long illness. He is survived by wife, Dorothy Rowley; children, Timothy Rowley (Tammie) and Christopher Rowley; step-children, Pamela Kruithof (Ryan) and Ronald DeVries (Heather); grandchildren, Ashley Sanders (Dwayne), Timothy and Cori Rowley; step-grandchildren, Maggie, Molly and Kara Kruithof and Adelyn DeVries; one great grand-daughter, Evynn Sanders; siblings, David Rowley, William Curry and Mary Curry; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin Theodore Rowley and Mary Evelyn (Bowman) Curry; a daughter, Monica Sue Rowley; brothers George and Terry Rowley, and sisters-in-law, Stella and Barbara Rowley. Thom was born on August 20, 1944 in Kalamazoo and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. He served his country in the US Navy. He worked for the US Postal Service in the finance department and retired as Postmaster in Mullett Lake, MI. He was an active member in the United Methodist Church. Thom will be remembered for bringing a smile and a few laughs to everyone he met each day. He was a people-person, and loved to joke with anyone whose path he crossed. They would stop their busy lives and look up to see who was brightening their day with a chuckle. A memorial service will be held at Lakeland Reformed Church, 10442 S. Sprinkle Road, Vicksburg, MI on Saturday, August 20. Visitation: 10:00-11:00 a.m., memorial service: 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Fritz Kruithof. Burial will follow at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park at 3941 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI. Cremation has been arranged by Langeland Funeral Home.
