Thomas Martin, Sr.

Martin, Thomas L. Sr. Kalamazoo, MI Tom passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at his home in Kalamazoo. He was born January 28, 1942 in Plainwell, the son of Robert and Bessie (Brown) Martin. Tom was a 1960 Otsego High School graduate and lifelong resident of the area. He worked for Statler Redi Mix and Graff Trucking for many years. He also served as a fireman for the Kalamazoo Fire Department. Tom loved hunting, fishing and watching horse races. He was a life member of the FFA and 4-H. In 1977 he married Ruth Ann Frost who survives. Also surviving are his children Pete (Penny) Martin of Kalamazoo, Thomas Jr. (Jan) Martin of Otsego, Sarah (Harold) Hammond of Allegan, Michelle (Pete) Anderson of Martin, Matt Dugga of Canada and Terry Kott of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sally; children, Paul James Martin and Jeffrey Kott. Friends may visit with Tom's family from 6-8 PM, Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. A private family burial will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
