Thomas Mackey

Age 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Tom was born in Kalamazoo on December 18, 1941, the son of Earl and Vivian (Fifer) Mackey. On June 2, 1962, he married Mary Feyen who survives him. Tom and Mary met in junior high when he was 15 and she was 13. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage. After a career of 36 years in sheet metal construction, he was able to enjoy 22 years of retirement in which he and Mary spent their winters in Mazatalan, MX and Lake Havasu, AZ, in their RV. Tom was a motor enthusiast, including cars, street rods, motorcycles and 4-wheelers. One of the highlights of Tom's week was to attend Calvary Chapel in Kalamazoo. Tom is survived by his children, Sandra (Christopher) Stahl of Houston, TX, and Michael (Amy) Mackey of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Jenna LeRoy, Erin LeRoy, Kelsey DeHaan, Shaun Mackey, Abby Mackey, Luke Mackey; great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Gibbs; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a service of remembrance of Tom's life and faith at the family home, 5610 East H Ave., Kalamazoo on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse or Calvary Chapel of Kalamazoo Valley, in c/o the funeral home.
