Thomas James Bennett

Thomas James Bennett, age 65, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Benton Harbor, MI, April 27, 1958, youngest of 4 children of William D. Bennett and Mary Sue (Nee: Gillham) Bennett.

Tom attended J.I. Case High School. On September 29, 1990, he was united in marriage to Deborah “Debbie” L. Geilfuss. Debbie passed away December 17, 2019. Tom’s passion was sailing, working on sailboats, and sailboat racing. He was a member of Island Goat Sailing Society, after completing 25 Mackinac races, as well as a former member of the Racine Yacht Club. Tom will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Surviving are his siblings, David (Jean) Bennett, Susan Murphy, John Bennett; niece, Angela Murphy; nephew, Hunter Bennett; great nieces, Ella Garcia, Bianca Garcia; stepmother, Martha Bennett; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, David Murphy.

Relatives and friends may meet to celebrate Tom’s life at the Racine Yacht Club, 1 Barker St, Saturday, April 27, 2024, from Noon until 3 pm.
