Cooper, Thomas Patrick 3/17/1944 - 4/12/2022 Edmonds, WA Dr.Thomas Patrick Cooper passed away peacefully April 12th in Edmonds. He was the best father and husband his family could have imagined. Tom was beloved by all his relatives, and to countless others, he was a loyal friend, an exceptional, caring physician, a coach, and a mentor. He was blessed with boundless energy, genuine kindness, and generosity. An eternal optimist and fun-loving mischief-maker, he was adventurous, creative, and athletic. Tom was born on March 17, 1944 to Dr. Paul & Edith Cooper. He grew up in Kalamazoo, MI attending University High School, where he was a star athlete and scholar. He graduated from the College of Wooster, where he met Sue McCulla. They were married in '66. After graduating from U of MI, Tom completed his urology residency at UW. In '76 Tom opened a urology practice in Everett where he cared for patients for more than 30 years. Tom loved medicine and was an exceptional surgeon. He contributed actively to medical communities in Everett, WA state, and nationally, serving in leadership roles in numerous organizations. When he retired in '08, Tom delighted in being a grandfather, honing his golf and tennis games, crabbing at Mission Beach, and traveling with his family. For the last several years Tom, bravely and with dignity, faced frontotemporal dementia which took him from us too early. He is survived by his wife, Sue, and their three children: Jeff, Amy and Ryan; six grandchildren: Cameron and Alexander Cooper (Jeff), Cooper and Kate McCarthy (Amy & Mark), Madeleine and Brady Cooper (Ryan & Stacey); and four siblings: Bert Cooper (Terri), Chris Oosterbaan (John decd), John Cooper (Karen) and Jane Greenebaum (Jimmy). In lieu of flowers, family suggests donating to Assoc. of Frontotemporal Degeneration or Housing Hope. Celebration of Life July 12th. Details: www.loveyoupapa.net
