Haagsma Theona of Kalamazoo, MI.
Passed away at home Tuesday, December 19, 2023, with family by her side. Theona was born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, on November 5, 1949, to the late Gerhardus and Annie (Wiersma) Haagsma. After Theona's mom passed away in 1989, her dad moved her and the rest of the family to Michigan. Theona enjoyed many things in life. Tulip time being one of her favorites as she loved tulips. At a younger age, Theona learned piano and continued to improve her skills over time.
Surviving Theona are her siblings, Sharon (Wilfred) Blakely, Arthur (Irene) Haagsma, Lois (Michael) Jernegan; and five nieces and nephews. Preceding her in passing are her parents.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Gathering on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 3pm to 6pm, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 411 East Center Ave, Portage, Michigan 49002. A family graveside service will take place at Riverdale Cemetery, Northbridge, Massachusetts, at a later date.
