Sylvia Heuchert

Sylvia Elizabeth Heuchert, age 87, of Portage, MI passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at her home. She was born on December 18, 1928 in New York, NY, the only child to Walter and Gertrude (Kachler) Meinke. Sylvia was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Kalamazoo, MI and a resident of Crossroads Village, Portage, MI. Surviving are her three daughters: Susan Heuchert of Palm Harbor, FL, Lois Heuchert of Portage and Pamela Jatzlau of Lexington, TX; and three grandchildren, Eric, Jamie and Emily Jatzlau. Preceding her in death were her parents and granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Jatzlau. A memorial service to celebrate Sylvia's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, Oct. 21, at Zion Lutheran Church, 2122 Bronson Blvd. Private family interment will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
