Sydney Roth

Sydney Roth, age 93, of Tucson, Arizona died on October 19, 2016. Born in Chicago, Illinois. Served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean conflict. Flew 18 missions over North Korea. Flew for American Airlines for 28 years. Retired in 1981. Loved to play golf and volunteer at both the Pima Air Museum and the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. Married to Helen A. Kirk (b.1930-d.1975). Survived by two children, Mike (Susan) and Diane; two grandchildren, Eric (Amy) and David (Erin) and great-grandchild Amelia. Married to LaVon Shaefer (b.1925-d.2013). Survived by three stepsons, Larry (Brenda), Robert (Patricia) and Scott (Joanne); four step-grandchildren, Brendt (Julie), Tara, Natalie and Audrey; four step great-grandchildren, Stella and Andrew, Ella and Charles. Loving husband and father, he will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
