Steven Klooster

Steven John Klooster, 63, passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2020, and went to be with his Lord and Savior. Steve was a longtime, active member of Grace Christian Reformed Church, serving in many areas. He loved the Kalamazoo Christian Schools and has always supported them, and especially loved watching K-Christian sporting events. He spent his lifetime in the family flower business with his grandpa, dad, brothers and sons and was a part owner of Klooster Greenhouse until his retirement. Since then he has enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and boating and motor homing as much as possible. He married the love of his life, Nancy Post, in 1976 and they had four beautiful children. He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Henry & Henrietta Post; and brothers-in-law, Russ Post and Jerry DeYoung. Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy (Post) Klooster; children, Jason Klooster, Lindsey (Klooster) & Dan Lindemulder, Nathan & Allyson (Smilanich) Klooster and Kate (Klooster) & Joshua Buursma; grandchildren, Duke & Chloe Lindemulder, Ezekiel & Emalyn Klooster and Etta Buursma; parents Melvin & Elaine Klooster; brothers, Mike & Linda Klooster and Don & Sheri Klooster; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ruth & Ron Eshuis, Mary DeYoung, Lois & Bill Koning, Sara Post, Betty & Joe Hendriksen, John & Pam Post and David & Cheryl Post; and many nieces and nephews. Private graveside services were held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Comstock Township. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Crossroads Prison Ministries, Kalamazoo Christian School Association or Grace Christian Reformed Church.
