Steve Piorkowski

Steve Junior Piorkowski III, aged 81, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born on March 15, 1944, in Garden City, Michigan, Steve was the beloved son of Steve II and Dorothy Piorkowski.

Steve graduated from Belleville High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Adrian College in 1980. His professional life was spent as a manager at General Mills, where he was respected for his leadership and dedication.

A deeply religious man, Steve was an active member of Pathfinder Church, formerly known as Portage Methodist Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing strength and comfort through the joys and sorrows he experienced, notably the loss of his son Steven. Steve believed in the guidance of a guardian angel and always turned to God in times of need.

Steve married the former Frances DeBruyne after a six-month courtship that began on a blind date. Together, they shared a love for gardening, yard work, and traveling, exploring new sights and experiences. Steve also enjoyed golfing and bowling. His family was the center of his life, and raising his children alongside Fran was his greatest joy.

Steve is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Justine; son, Gregory; grandchildren, Bridgette, Jacob, Izaac, Eiexxia, and Corban; and great-grandchildren, Holly, Dashlin, Anna, and Jamison. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Dorothy, his son Steven, sister Mildred, and brother James.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 6, at Pathfinder Church, 8740 S Westnedge Ave, Portage, MI 49002, with a luncheon to follow.
