Shirley Thompson

Thompson, Shirley Lee Shirley Lee Thompson (Baber) died unexpectedly on 11/19/2020, in Greenville SC. Shirley was born on 12/8/1939 to Luella And Gerald Baber in Plainwell, Michigan. She graduated from Portage High School in 1958. In June of 1960 she married Vernon Thompson and they had a boy, Vern Scott Thompson, on 03/07/1962. Shirley worked at The Root Beer Stand, General Plastics, and Fabri-Kal. When Fabri-Kal moved to Greenville, she went with them. She loved sports, both watching and playing. She was a big time University of Michigan FOOTBALL fan. Shirley enjoyed softball, bowling, fishing and going to the beach. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Darwin, Paul and Roger; and her husband, Vern. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vern and Mary Thompson; her Granddaughter Sharah; Derek Pasco; and two great grandchildren, Kate and Leo. Also surviving are two sisters, Rossetta Stermer and Donna; Jim Korp; a very special friend, Patrick Quinn; and her beloved dogs Dude and Polly. There will be no services.
