Shirley Irene Horvath, age 94, passed away Monday March 11, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born in Racine, WI, April 4, 1929, daughter of Robert and Ruby (Nee: Carver) Clickner. Ruby died at a young age leaving her husband and 4 small children behind. Robert later married Ruby's sister Carrie, together raising Robert's 3 sons and daughter Shirley.

Shirley attended Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1947”. On April 4, 1964, she was united in marriage to John G. Horvath who preceded her in death July 12, 2008. Shirley worked for the telephone company in Racine many years ago as a switch board operator until marrying and staying home to raise her children. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, St. Ann’s Guild at St. Stephens Episcopal Church and a 30 year member of TOPS. Shirley enjoyed traveling the United States, sewing, quilting, card parties, her Oklahoma Card Club, and her 4H Club get-togethers - Wednesday Morning Coffee Meetings and birthday dinners. Above all she treasured time spent with her family especially “playing with the kids”. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, James Lobner, Jill (Gerald) Anderson, JoAnne (Clayton) King; stepson, John R. Horvath; grandchildren, James (Rhonda) Lobner, Carrie (Jason) Guenther, Michael (Elizabeth) Horvath, Scott (Christina) Horvath, Adam Laing, Justin Laing, Ashley (Anthony) Monty, Kylie (Christopher) Perez, Kevin King; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, John (Cecelia) Clickner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Erica Laing; father, Robert Clickner, mothers, Ruby and Carrie Clickner; siblings, Jean Clickner, Robert (Mary) Clickner; and special lifelong friends, Margie, Sachiko, and Donna.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, March 23, 2024, 11 am with Rev. Mike Tess officiating. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10-11 am. Memorials to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church have been suggested.
