Sharon Shindledecker

Sharon Shindledecker, age 74, of Kalamazoo, MI went to be with her Lord and heavenly father unexpectedly on Monday, Oct 24, 2016. She was born on Apr 28, 1942 in Kalamazoo, MI to Maxine and Kenneth Boone. She graduated Vicksburg High School in the class of 1960. She worked as a certified OT Specialist at the Kalamazoo State Hospital in 1962 where she met Francis. On Aug 31st, 1963 she married the love of her life Francis E. Shindledecker at the Bethel Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, MI. In 1969 she became a licensed foster care provider to several young children. On Apr 6, 1975 she was baptized at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in NC. She is survived by her brother John Boone, 4 children Kurt (Cindy), Teresa (Steve), Margie (Gaspar) and Laurilee, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 8 nana children. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband. A small memorial will be held at the Cross Community Church of the Nazarene on 5625 Oakland Dr, Portage MI. 49024 on Saturday Oct 29th at 11 am with refreshments to follow. Sharon and Francis will be laid to rest in East Freedom, Pennsylvania in 2017. Flowers and donations can be made to the family at the church.
