Sharon K. Hansen of Pine Lake (Plainwell, MI)

Passed away Sunday morning, April 28, 2024. Sharon was born March 4, 1941 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Jacob and Rena (Mejeur) DeHaan. Sharon graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School, Bronson Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, and received her RN nursing license. She worked as a nurse for 40 years filling various types of nursing roles, eventually retiring from West Side Medical Research department. After retiring, she continued her caregiving work and provided flu shots to the community.

When not working, she enjoyed pontoon rides on Pine Lake with her family and dogs. Sharon was passionate about tending the flowers and plants in her yard. She found joy in her hobbies of camping, quilting, and reading. Sharon delighted in spending time with her children and grandchildren attending school and sporting events.

On November 2, 1963 Sharon was united in marriage to her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Hansen who survives. Also surviving are her children, Mike (Mary) Hansen, Steve (Sherry) Hansen, Becky (Todd) Rehr; grandchildren, Taylor Hansen, Lindsey (Andrew) Myers, Shelby Hare, Taylor (Corey) Myers, Katlyn (Kurtis) Rice, Brent Hansen, Sydney and Emily Rehr; great-grandchildren, Kenslee and Koletin Rice, and Landyn Myers. Friends may meet the family on Thursday, May 2 from 5:00pm-7:00pm and Friday, May 3 from 10:00am-11:00am at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 where funeral service will be held Friday, May 3 at 11:00am. A light reception will follow the service in the Langeland Family Center and private interment will be in West Cooper Cemetery. The family would like to thank Senior Care Partners of Portage and the Suji House Caregivers for their compassionate care during Sharon's final days.
