Sharon Dresen, age 73, formerly of Racine, joined her Heavenly father on January 10, 2018, surrounded by her family. Sharon was born March 17, 1944, in Racine to the late Leland Jensen and Lillian Anderson Jensen. On December 22, 1949, she was adopted by her dad, Leonard Wosyk, and became Sharon Wosyk. Sharon graduated from Racine Park High School in 1962.

On April 29, 1978, Sharon married the love of her life and soulmate, Alfred “Big Al” Dresen. They shared the love of their family, Lake Arrowhead, and the Green Bay Packers until Al’s passing on March 27, 2008. After 22 years of service, Sharon retired from the Racine County Sheriff’s Department as a civilian in January 2000. She loved her job and was proud of the awards she received for DIS member of the Sheriff Officers Stress Support Team and State Critical Incident debriefing team. In her free time, Sharon loved to spend countless hours on counted cross stitch, sharing the finished product with family and friends. In August 2014, Sharon took a leap of faith and moved to Tennessee with her family. She was independent, made great friends and truly lived and loved life.

Sharon is survived by her son, Samuel (Shea) Peach; grandchildren, Misti (Lee) Race, Alex (Danie) Peach, Samantha Peach; daughter, Susan Barkley (Peach) of Rogersville, TN; grandchildren, Cassandra (Jake) Gjerswald, Alyssa (Tommy) Lloyd, Gabrielle Peach, Jeremiah Barkley Jr. (JJ); great grandchildren, Joshua, Ryder, Abigail, and soon to be born baby girls, Lloyd and Gjerswald; brother, John Wosyk, Racine; in-laws, Doug Green, Racine, Mary and Bob Pavlat, Nekoosa, WI, Mike and Julie Dresen, Nekoosa, WI, Larry and Mary Dresen, Mt. Juliet, TN, Jim and Lana Dresen, Racine, WI; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Len and Lil Wosyk; sister, Carol Green; in-laws, Alfred and Rita Dresen, Laura Johnson Quinn; and her beloved husband, Al Dresen.

Family and friends may join us to celebrate Sharon’s life at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St., Racine, on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
