Scott Hamilton

Scott Michael Hamilton of Vicksburg, MI passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at the age of 42. Scott was born in Traverse City, MI on April 25, 1974, the son of Michael and Lorraine (Baynton) Hamilton. He attended Western Michigan University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He served as Sergeant with the Calhoun County Sherriff's Department and was a member of Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hiking and hunting and enjoyed studying Civil War History. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and volunteering with his children's sporting activities. He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Bartosiewicz-Hamilton; son and daughter, Brennan and Payton Hamilton; his parents, Michael and Lorraine Hamilton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gary and Phyllis Bartosiewicz; grandmothers, Virginia Baynton and Verna Hamilton; brother, Jason (Melanie) Hamilton; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Ryan) Edind, Lisa and Laura Bartosiewicz; nieces and nephews, Leslie & Alyssa Hamilton and Liam, Tyler & Carter Edlind. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for family and close friends will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 10th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to establish an education fund for Scott's children.
