Ruth Marie (Phinney) Caron

Ruth Marie (Phinney) Caron, age 77, of Gobles, passed away Monday, December 18th, 2023 at Alamo Nursing Home. Ruth was born February 25, 1946 in Kalamazoo, daughter of the late Carl and Florence Phinney.

Ruth had a passion for many things in her life; music, singing, photography, nature, community service, family, and friends. Ruth graduated from Kalamazoo Central, KVCC, and Western Michigan University. She was trained to be a therapist by her dear friend Zoe and worked for Van Buren Mental Health for over 25 years. She was dedicated and cared for all the people she helped. She loved her family deeply. Family events with children were always held dear to her heart. A beautiful person in so many ways throughout her life. She will be sadly missed and remembered with love.

Surviving are children, Jon (Holly) Newman, Joe Newman, Candy Caron, Frank (Missy) Caron, Paul (Jennifer) Caron and Renee (Brad) Picardt; grandchildren, Bailey, Kelsey, Carter, Cruz, Jake, Zoe, Izzy, Evie, Brandon, Samantha, Mindy, Ryan (Chesney) Converse, Taylor Gaw, Joey Newman, and Tristan; great grandchildren, Khloe, Layla, Brynleigh, Iris, and Kai. She was preceded In death by her Husband of 25 years Glenn Caron, parents, sisters Anne and Carol, brothers Tom and Carl Phinney Jr.

A Visitation and Celebration of life will take place on Saturday February 17th from 11am- 1pm and 3pm- 5pm at The Oshtemo Community Center, 6407 Parkview Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
