Ruth Fairchild

Ruth J. (Lint-King) Fairchild of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Saturday, May 23, at Borgess Hospital after a short stay. She was born in Howe Indiana to George and Geraldine Baker Lint. Ruth worked for 38 years as a head cashier for A&P Grocery stores and after a brief retirement she returned to workforce at Walmart for 15 years, retiring again in 2010. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, L.D (Carole) Lint; granddaughter, Kimberly King; and great-granddaughter, Kaisdy Martin. She is survived by her children, Mike (JoEllen) King, Jim (Sue) King, Janet (Tom) Martin; 9 grandchildren, Brent (Amy) Danielle, Marla, Mike II and Garrett King, Kalee and Chad King, Marc (Jessica), Tonya Martin; 7 great- grandchildren, Anna and Natalie King, Lorenzo Zachery, Ayla King, Alison and Alayna Martin and Kami Martin. Over the years Ruth kept herself busy with cake decorating, crafts, summer vacations at the lake as well as being an active member of the Eagles Lodge 526, The VFW and UFCW Local 951. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, May 27th, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday May 28th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to The Pretty Lake Burn Camp.
