Ruth Brown

BROWN, RUTH ANN Ruth Ann Brown, 70, passed away peacefully in her home on September 14, 2022. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Miller F. Brown, Jr. (Paula) and Tom W. Brown, her niece Carson Brown, her nephew Adam Brown, her cousins and her many friends. Ruth had lived in the Kalamazoo area since 1969, when she came to Western Michigan University as a freshman. She went on to receive both her B.S. and Masters (Social Work) degrees from Western. She spent most of her career as a social worker and manager in Kalamazoo and made a truly positive impact on the community. Ruth was an animal and nature lover and had a special place in her heart for her dear cats, Kallie and Mouse. She was also a Jehovah's Witness and loved her local congregation dearly. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Bridgeways, SPCA of Southwest Michigan or Centrica Care Navigators (hospice).
