Ruth Abbott

Ruth C. Abbott, age 98, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on June 27, 2016. She was born on June 9, 1918 in Kalamazoo to Mabel and William Teutsch. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Belle Rowland and Evelyn Kelly, and her brothers Frederick and William Teutsch. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and Parson's Business College. On August 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to Corliss W. Abbott, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Ethel McGregor of Kalamazoo. She is also survived by her three sons Richard J. Abbott (Camille) of Traverse City, John W. Abbott (Amy) of Grand Rapids, and Robert D. Abbott of Otsu, Japan, as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Ladies' Library Association and the First Presbyterian Church. There will be no visitation. A private memorial service is planned for her family.
