Roy Longwell

LONGWELL - Mr. Roy Howard Longwell, aged 80, a resident of Grand Rapids, formerly of Lake Odessa, veteran of the U.S. Navy, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Longwell (nee Raczkiewicz); his daughters, Paulette Longwell, Linda Longwell-McCarthy, Lori (Tom) Peterson; grandchildren, James Roy (Betsy) McCarthy, Thomas Komor, Justin, Jordan, Marissa Peterson; sister-in-law, Pam Raczkiewicz; special nieces, Sandy (Don) Spruit and Jeanie Brown and other loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his five sisters. Roy was a member of Basilica of St. Adalbert, American Legion Post 311 Walter Durkee Post and other Clubs and Aid Societies. He was a retiree of McDonnell Douglas Corporation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Basilica of St. Adalbert. He will repose in church one hour prior to the Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd., where a Rosary will be prayed Friday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions to Parkinson's Association or Basilica of St. Adalbert "Restore the Glory" will be appreciated.
