Benoit, Ronald S. Burlington, Michigan Ronald S. Benoit, age 83 of Burlington, died at home surrounded by his loving family and faithful dog, Megan on November 4, 2022. He was born August 18, 1939, in Flint, Michigan, the son of John and Winifred (Sines) Benoit. Ron was a 1957 graduate of Climax High School and proudly supported the school as an alumnus. Growing up he developed the lifelong values of love, family, loyalty, service, devotion, and generosity. He embodied every one of these qualities every moment of his life. Ron felt very strongly about his country and dutifully enlisted in the U.S. Army and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer III, after 30 years with honor. While in the army, his life forever changed in July of 1958 when he met the love of his life Sally Peterson. He would affectionally share their love story that started while they were both on dates with other people. He loved to share that their connection was instant, and they held hands in the car, him in the back seat and her in the front, the whole entire night. Ron & Sally had an amazing storybook love story. They were married on October 24th and spent 62 and a half loving years until her death in March 2021. The perfect team, they experienced the trials and adventure of traveling the world making new homes for their family at every duty station the military sent them. They built a legacy of love producing so many wonderful memories with one another as well as family and friends, including white water rafting trips, endless nights of cards, and many family gatherings. After retirement, Ron and Sally settled back in Burlington on nearly 70 acres that he proudly called his land. Ron worked at Carter's Grocery Store, enjoyed bowling (touting a perfect 300 game), golfing, hunting and many knew that Euchre was his love language. He was a dedicated family man and hard worker who above all valued being called husband, father, and grandfather. The love that he had and shared was unmatched and he will be dearly missed. Ron is survived by his children: Suzanne Jo Weisshaupt, Ronald Sherman (Cindy) Benoit II, Barbara Ann (Thomas) Lally, and Patricia Lynn Benoit (Troy Wensauer); his 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; his brother Dan (Diane) Benoit, his sisters-in-law, Mary Brown and Dorothy (Jim) Klatt; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in passing are his parents and many others he knew as "family." Friends may gather with the family on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Location, 205 E. Maple Street, Climax 49034, where his funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Garrett Cone officiating.
