Weirick, Roger C. was born on July 4, 1936 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He passed away peacefully on June 2, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by his family. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Burnell E, and Doris O Weirick, and his brother Ronald (Leta) Weirick, Richard (Martha) Weirick. He is survived by his children Kevin (Lori) Weirick , Kimberly Weirick, Elizabeth (Gary) Huston, Julie (Charles) Braham, Grandaughter Emily Sidner, Gary's son James Huston, the mother of his children Sharon Webster, his wife Shay Weirick and her son Bobby Urmy, sister Portia Webster, and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1955. He attended Ferris State Institute where he was President of Phi Delta Chi fraternity, and graduated pharmacy school in 1962. His hobbies included performing magic, HAM radio, woodworking, hunting, quilting, raising Clydesdale horses, and he was a Civil War aficionado. You could always find Roger helping others, whether it be building a pole barn, hosting a pig roast (in the pig roaster he built himself), or helping someone move. He loved flowers, especially dahlias; the really really big ones. It is no wonder given his motto of "bigger is better." But what he loved most was his love of birds. He was known for building huge bird feeders and practically diverting the birds from all of North America to his backyard. He could sit for hours watching them entertain him while trying to figure out what kind of bird it was. He had a bigger than life personality and his laugh was contagious. A small private graveside memorial will be held in the fall at Evergreen Cemetery in Bloomingdale, Michigan. In lieu of flowers contributions in his name can be made to The Audubon Society.
