Robert Troyer

Troyer, Robert William Robert William Troyer, age 78, of Portage passed away August 19, 2022 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. He was born June 27, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late William M. and Dorothy (Butts) Troyer. Bob served the Portage community for over 30 years as a Nationwide Insurance Broker. Through his career and humorous, charismatic personality, he was able to create great relationships and lasting friendships. This especially included his men's support group he attended for 30 years. Bob enjoyed golfing, trips to the casino, and riding his Harley motorcycle, along with spending time at his Florida home and with his beloved family, who was very special to him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Voit; and brothers-in-law, Alfred Mitchell and Richard Bittner. He leaves behind son, Daniel (Cindy) Troyer; daughter, Becky Howells; grandchildren, Brendan, Justin, Dylan, Addison, and Emma; sisters, Nancy Mitchell, Julie Bittner, and Cheryl (Lennard) Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will take place Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 2:00-6:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, Michigan 49002. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Texas Township at a later date.
