Robert Thomas

Robert William Thomas, age 89, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Chicago, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Bob was born December 18, 1934 in Chicago, IL the son of Jacob and Johanna (Twardowski) Thomas and has lived in the Kalamazoo area for the past 7 years. He was a member of the Shriners in Chicago, and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Portage. He worked for Electromotive, then Cook County Forest Preserve Department and Cook County Highway Department. Surviving are his wife Cheryl (Haverly), whom he married March 24, 1973 in Chicago; 3 sisters, Janis Haverly, Dawn (Bob) Kuc, Penelope Gould; 4 nieces and nephews, Nicholas (Katie) Kuc, Natalie Kuc, Logan Haverly, and Camille Gould. He was preceded in death by his parents. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on June 26, from 10 AM until time of memorial service at 11 AM, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Portage.
