Robert John Radina, age 89, passed away at home in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on May 11, 2024. Robert, a man of intellectual curiosity, was born on August 29, 1934, in Richville, Michigan, to the late John Edwin and Grace Ann (Amend) Radina. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Andrea Lynn (David) Barron, and a proud grandfather to his three grandchildren, Katie Lynn, Kristopher Keith, and Kelsey Ann Barron. His thirst for knowledge led him to graduate from AHHS in Saginaw, MI, with the class of 1953. He furthered his education at Bay City J.C. to earn his Associate Degree in the class of 1955. Robert then attended Saginaw Valley College in 1972 for his Bachelor's Degree and his Master's Degree in 1974 at Central Michigan University. Robert's unwavering commitment to his family and community was a testament to his character. His love for his country led him to proudly serve in the United States Navy, stationed in Adake, Alaska, and later in Washington, DC. After his service, he continued to serve his community in various roles, including working for the Bureau of Ship Office Supply and serving as the chief General Ledger for the VA Hospital in Saginaw, MI. His dedication to education was evident in his teaching at St Joseph Catholic School and 25 years of service at Saginaw Valley Public School. Robert's hard work and love were known to all who crossed his path. Robert's love for music was a testament to his mother's encouragement and his own innate talent. His passion for music was felt by all in the church choir and men's club. His musical talent extended beyond the church, as he was a member of various musical groups. He was a lifetime member of the EANEA, American Legian Post #207, North American Fishing Club, Member of the Moose 40 and 8, Valtier 181 Battle Creek, and NRA. He was also a dedicated member of the Center Park Methodist Church in Three Rivers, Michigan, where his music brought joy and inspiration to the congregation. Robert is survived by his daughter, Andrea Lynn (David) Barron; three grandchildren, Katie Lynn, Kristopher Keith, and Kelsey Ann Barron; Robert is also survived by his sister, Nathalie Grace (Daryl) Dixon; several nieces and nephews; close cousin Alfred Amend of Oklahoma, and two dear friends, David and Kathy Wardell.
