Robert Sherman Greenlaw, 82, of Traverse City, Sadley left us February 27th, 2024, peacefully in the comfort of his home. Robert was born to Mary Esther and Alex Greenlaw on December 7th, 1941 (Pearl Harbor Day).

Robert went on to join the service as a Corps Man in the Navy; where his mission was extended due to the Cuban missile crisis in the 60’s and the ship he was on helped to block the invasion of Russian ships to Cuba.

Later in life Bob (Robert) took to trucking and eventually opened his own trucking company, Twin Bay Freight. Bob is responsible for getting countless loads of freight to people in need throughout our country. After his adventure as a business owner, Bob went to work dispatching for other local trucking companies, he was really a wonder at his job and in the trucking industry.

Bob loved to tell stories of his days in the Navy, traveling the country and most of all loved his family. Bob loved anything that involved music and his little buddy Riely.

Bob is survived by his loving children, Nevada Yetter (TJ), Todd Greenlaw, Kristie Penney (Lonny), Robin Rector, Jay Rector and Rex Rector; his brothers and sister, Frank Greenlaw, Paul Greenlaw, Mary Val Wolf and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; son, Troy Greenlaw; brother, Arthur Greenlaw and sister Colette Riffenberg. Bob will be put to rest next to his mother and father at Oakwood Cemetery following a private ceremony with close friends and family.

A Celebration of life is being planned for Robert at the VFW Hall at 3400 Veterans Drive Traverse City, MI 49684 at 2pm, Saturday, March 30th 2024 including military honors beginning at 2:30pm. We would love to see all your faces and share your stories just as Bob loved to do. We’ll See ya around the Bend, friends.
