Robert B. Foster

Robert B. Foster passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Florida. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 95. The son of the late LeRoy and Fern Foster, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Jean, sister Gail, and brothers Richard and Phil.

He was born on June 26, 1931, in River Rouge, MI. Bob retired from Michigan Department of Transportation in 1991. He was a kind and gentle man and always cheered for the Tigers and MSU teams. He enjoyed music and a cold beer as well as travelling. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of MSU in 1958. He and Jean were married on September 7, 1957.

He is survived by his son Brad (Susan) Foster, daughter Jane MacRitchie, four grandsons Robert (Francesca) Foster, Thomas (Ciara) Foster, Lucas MacRitchie, and Clayton (Vanessa) MacRitchie; and three great granddaughters.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Home, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, 49009, for friends and family to gather on Thursday, October 22nd, from 5 to 8 pm. Light finger foods and beverages will be provided. Bob will be laid to rest with Jean during a private family ceremony at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park where he will also receive full military honors.
