Rick Geer

Rick Geer, age 84, of Kalamazoo, MI died on October 29, 2016. May he always be remembered for his courage, strength, understanding and love. Born in Long Beach CA, son of Clayton and E. Marjorie Geer. Graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and WMU. He served in the USAF. He previously was Personnel Director at Bronson Methodist Hospital for 24 years and a Human Resource Consultant until his retirement in 1993. He was a member and officer in management organizations. He was a lifelong member of Alpha Kappa Psi, American Society for Healthcare Resources Administration and served as a member of Board of Directors of ECCU in Kalamazoo for 27 years. Rick is survived by his wife Shirley P. (Losik) Geer. He is survived by his children and grandchildren - Dawn and Jack (Chip) Mahoney, Molly, Megan and Kevin Mahoney; Robin Smith, Annalyse and Trenton Smith; Mark and Susan Geer, Miki Townes, Kasie Wirstrom and Connor Geer, Jeffery, Andrea Ross and Josh Amburn; Mark and Jeffery McCarty, Bennjayman and sister-in-law Pearl Schulthies and numerous other nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren. Services will be December 2, 2016 at Mt. Everest West at 1pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of SW Michigan and West Michigan Cancer Society.
