McIntyre, Richard Stewart (Dick) of Battle Creek, MI passed away at Borgess Hospital May 18th, 2022, after a brief illness. Richard was born in Kalamazoo, on September 25th, 1951, to Richard Howard McIntyre and Betty Jane (Bayley) McIntyre. Richard attended Portage Central High School and, after graduation, attended Western Michigan University. Richard worked for Kellogg's Company in Battle Creek for 26 years, retiring in 2012. After his retirement, Richard met and fell in love with Paula Green, and they were united in marriage on January 16th, 2015. Richard and Paula shared many loves, including family, traveling, reading the paper, crossword puzzles, and music. Richard was an avid fan of all Michigan's professional sports teams; in particular, the Detroit Tigers. When not traveling or planning their next trip, they enjoyed attending the many and varied sporting events of the grandchildren, dinners, birthdays, and family functions. Richard will be remembered for his quiet compassion, mischievous sense of humor, and the love he had for his family and those he held most dear. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard, and mother, Betty Jane. He is survived by his wife Paula McIntyre, son Michael (Jodi) McIntyre, daughter Kathryn McIntyre (Jeff Parsons), stepchildren Erik (Shawn) Huff, Carla Ludwick, sisters Margo (Fred) Brundage, Traci (John) Persky, and the mother of his two children, Nita McIntyre. He is also survived by his grandsons Keegan and Evan McIntyre, step-grandson Kaleb (Skylar) Huff, step-great-granddaughter Layla Huff, and many nieces and nephews. Services have been entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015. Per Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services or remembrances will be held.
