(Krzyzanowski) Mr. Richard R. Kross, age 77, was born on December 16, 1929, and flew away home after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father, Alex, and mother, Josephine (Wysocki) Krzyzanowski; father-in-law, Francis Parks, and mother-in-law, Wilfrida (Broadbent) Parks. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 50 years, Kathleen (Parks); two daughters, Charlene M. (Thomas) Johnson and Renee W. (Joseph) Stutz; five grandchildren, Julie (Kurt) Uniek, Jeffrey (Naomi) Johnson, Erica (Brian) Schaidt, Michael (Kacie Fouty) Buzzitta, and Deanna Stutz; two step-grandchildren, Jason and Ryan Stutz; and two great-grandchildren, Corbin Johnson, and Evelyn Schaidt. After graduating from Catholic Central, and two years at Davenport, Richard went into sales, working at Wurzburgs. He later retired from Arsulowicz Real Estate. Over the years, he was a volunteer on many boards. He was the president of the PTA for Sibley School, he was a member of the Falcons, T.P.A., and was the vice president of the Wyoming Cultural Commission. One of his favorite memories was when he and his wife, Kathleen, spent 22 years delivering the Grand Rapids Press. Richard always had a good story to tell about the olden days. He enjoyed talking about the history of Grand Rapids, and the history of any republican in office. No matter who he was talking to, he always had a joke to tell you, and they made you laugh. He loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings. Richard enjoyed going to the casino with his wife; daughter, Charlene; and son-in-law, Tom. He could spend all day sitting and listening to the radio. He enjoyed hearing about the news, and the current events in our country. Richard will be dearly missed, not only by his family, but by all those who he came into contact with. He had a big heart and knew how to bring joy to everyone around him. Funeral and Committal Service will be conducted Friday, at 12:00 p.m. at Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Road. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to American Kidney Foundation, Mel Trotter Mission, or Salvation army will be appreciated.
