Richard Kjoss

Richard (Dick) Kjoss passed away peacefully on January 8, 2017. He was born in Chicago, IL on October 3, 1928 to Walter E. and Esther Kjoss. He attended Chicago High School and the University of Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Sarah A. Durst on February 4, 1951.

Richard spent his entire career in the banking and in financial dealings, working his way up the ranks to become CEO and President of two financial institutions, until his retirement. He continued to do financial counseling, to others, in financial planning for many years after his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf and boating.

He is survived by his two daughters, Susan (Jack) McDaniel and Linda (David) Scott. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Chad (Gwen) McDaniel, Erin(Rick) Julian-Beukema, McKenzie (Aaron) Roman, Kathryn (Matt) Karnakowski, and Robert Scott, and 5 great-grandchildren, Owen, Ryan & Samantha McDaniel, Elizabeth Julian, and Gus Roman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sarah, his son Mark, and grandson David.
