Horn, Richard Richard L. Horn, age 74 of rural Three Rivers went to the Lord on Friday Sep. 9, 2016. He was born in Galesburg on July 4, 1942 the son of the late Alfred Horn and Katherine (Jennings-Horn) Sullivan. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roger, Edwin, and William Horn and sister in law, Barb Horn. Richard was united in marriage to Anne (Jordan) Horn on July 2, 1966 and they had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons, Greg (Christi) Horn and Keith (Teresea) Horn; 3 grandchildren, Bella Horn, Brendan Horn, and Will Allen; 2 brothers, Marvin Horn and Dave Horn; sisters in law, Jackie Horn, Marcia Horn, and Mary Collier; several nieces and nephews. Richard was the owner of Horn's Resort on Crooked Lake near Delton for many years, and worked at Spinner Bait Company designing and building custom spinner baits. He was active in the Plainwell-Otsego Jay-Cees, serving as Past President and District Officer, and was a Plainwell Cub Scout Master. After retiring to Kline's Resort he was active in the Cares & Shares Club. Richard was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Plainwell and most recently at the West Mendon United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee. An avid fisherman, he spent many years fishing up North with family and friends. He loved golf, woodworking, and making stone crosses and lighthouses. A loyal fan of U of M football, he never missed a game and wore his U of M hats wherever he went. Family was very important to him and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and travelling with his wife, Anne. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and humor. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday Sep. 13, 2016 at the West Mendon United Methodist Church with Pastor Thoreau May officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to serves at the church located at 22944 Portage Lake Road. A social gathering will follow services. A private interment will take place later.
