Richard Hamacher

Richard was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Merle and Frances Hamacher. He graduated from Portage Central High School and went into the Marines to serve his country. Later he married Susanne and they had his sons, Kelly and Kevin. Richard worked for the railroad for many years while running his own Mr. Dons franchise. He then went on to be a private investigator. Then he decided to buy and run his own restaurant and purchased what is now Poor Richards Café. Richard loved to spend time with his family when he could and would tell the most amazing stories of his younger years and all the things he did over his lifetime. The poor Richards legacy will live on through his sons, Kelly and Kevin Hamacher. Surviving Richard are his sons, Kelly (Annette) Hamacher, Kevin (Mandy) Hamacher; siblings, John (Terry) Hamacher, Ann (Ken) Sutton; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his parents. Richard will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery and a celebration of life will take place at a later date at Poor Richards Café.
