Dick died on August 2nd at his home surrounded by his family. Dick was born on December 14, 1924 in Park Township, St. Joseph County, Michigan. The son of Frank P. Lowe and Ivy (Zerby) Lowe. He was a resident of the Vicksburg area his entire life with an exception of the two years he served with the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Harriet (LaVerne) Oakleaf, Helen Stafinski, Dorothy Klaassen, Patrick Lowe and Robert (Patricia) Lowe. On October 22, 1949, Dick was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Betty) Dorrance who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Beth Haines of Tecumseh; son, Richard “Rick” (Kim Thornton) Lowe of Three Rivers; six grandchildren: Jason, Jared, Jordan (Amanda), Lauren Haines, Corey Aukerman and Kelly (Ahamed) Aukerman Morsi; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may meet with Dick’s family from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 with a Rosary to follow at Life Story Funeral Home, Vicksburg (409 S. Main, Vicksburg 269-649-1697) A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, along with a private burial in Mint Cemetery, Park Township.
