Richard "Dick" Arlen Reist passed away February 20, 2020 at Medilodge of Kalamazoo with his wife and family at his side. He was born September 19, 1933 in Comstock, the son of Jay Sr. and Grace (Rustenholtz) Reist. Dick attended Comstock High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and was a member of Eagles Aerie 3531 in Schoolcraft. Dick was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beverly J. Marr, on November 17, 1953. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Reist; their 5 children, Janice (Tim Mader) Bailey, Richard (Marie) Reist, Jr., Russell (Pamela) Reist, Ricky (Joy) Reist, and Judy (Kevin) Slumkoski; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine (Robert) DeShon; and a sister-in-law, Nellie Reist. The family will greet friends Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 10-11:00AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00AM with Pastor Bill Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park with full military honors performed by the Otsego VFW Post 3030. The family invites you to join them following the burial for a luncheon at the Eagles Aerie 3531, 11611 Shaver Rd, Schoolcraft, MI 49087.
