Rena Lude

It is with great sadness that the family of Rena Pifer Lude, age 93, of Tucson, AZ announces that she joined our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11:10 AM. Rena was born in Alvordton, OH daughter of William Earl and Mabel Caulkins Pifer. She spent her formative years in Hillsdale, MI where she graduated from high school. Rena attended Hillsdale College where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and majored in Early-Childhood Education. While at Hillsdale she met and fell in love with Milo "Mike" Lude. Rena and Mike joined the war effort, Rena making uniforms and Mike in the United States Marine Corps. They returned to Hillsdale College where they graduated June 2, 1947 and then were married on June 5th. They celebrated 70 years of marriage this year. Rena loved nature, her friends, her family, the sun and all things yellow. Rena is survived by her devoted husband Mike, daughters; Cynthia (Gary Crose), Janann (Mark Nelson), Jill (Jim Thompson) and her grandson Michael Nelson. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Casa De Luz Hospice or St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Tucson, AZ. Memorial Service to be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00AM at St. Andrews Church 7650 N. Paseo Del Norte Tucson, AZ 85704. Reception immediately following the service.
